The Indian men’s football team is set to have two international friendly matches against Tajikistan in June. The games are scheduled for June 5 and June 9 at the Hisor Central Stadium in Hisor, Tajikistan, both starting at 8:30 PM IST.
Currently competing in the Unity Cup 2026 in London, the Indian football team will head to Tajikistan after finishing their matches in the four-nation tournament. Following a semi-final against the Jamaica national football team on May 27, India will play either the Nigeria or Zimbabwe football team in the final or third-place playoff on May 30.
Preparations for the two-match series will see the Indian squad departing from London to Tajikistan on May 31. These upcoming friendlies will mark India’s return to the Hisor Central Stadium, where they secured a bronze medal during the CAFA Nations Cup last year.
The friendlies are seen as a crucial opportunity by the All India Football Federation (AIFF) for the national team to gain international exposure and enhance team combinations for future competitions and World Cup qualification tasks. India will face Tajikistan twice during the FIFA window, aiming to test their skills in Central Asian conditions.
