The Indian Motion Picture Producers’ Association (IMPPA) presented over 35 films, TV shows, and entertainment content by its members at the Cannes Film Festival. The IMPPA Stall, located at Palais-1, Booth No. 21.05, was inaugurated by Mr. Chanchal Kumar from the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India, and filmmaker Mr. Ashutosh Gowariker. Notable figures like Dr. M. N. Ajay Nagabhushan and Mr. Benoît Ginisty were also present.
The Cannes Film Festival, a prestigious event in the film industry, runs from May 12 to May 23 and is known for showcasing global cinema. It awards the coveted Palme d’Or to the best film in the main competition. The festival, established in 1946, attracts famous directors, emerging filmmakers, and international stars, with a history of premiering iconic films.
Apart from its focus on cinema, the Cannes Film Festival is renowned for its red-carpet glamour, high-end fashion moments, and star-studded gatherings. It also hosts the Marché du Film, a significant film market where global deals are negotiated by producers, distributors, and studios.
