A delegation from India’s National Defence College (NDC) visited the Royal Thai Air Force (RTAF) Headquarters in Bangkok. The visit aimed to strengthen defense ties between India and Thailand. The delegation, led by Maj Gen APS Bal, engaged in discussions with Air Marshal Wichain Vijiradharma and Ambassador Puneet Agarwal.
The delegation was warmly welcomed at the RTAF Headquarters and also toured the RTAF Museum. Discussions centered on enhancing the India-Thailand Strategic Partnership through increased defense-sector collaboration. Bilateral defense relations between the two countries have seen significant progress, especially since the implementation of India’s Look East Policy.
India and Thailand engage in various defense cooperation activities, including joint exercises, maritime patrols, and officer training exchanges. The lifting of COVID-related restrictions in 2022 allowed for the resumption of mutual visits and exchanges between the two nations. Defense industry cooperation has also been on the rise, with participation in each other’s defense-related exhibitions.
