Indian Naval Ship (INS) Tarkash, a stealth frigate of the Indian Navy, has completed its visit to Port Louis in Mauritius and has now set sail for its planned mission in the South West Indian Ocean Region (IOR).
During its stay, the crew of INS Tarkash engaged in various activities, including a volleyball match and professional training sessions for the Mauritius National Coast Guard personnel. The training covered aspects like watchkeeping, firefighting, and maritime safety.
The visit also included opening the ship to around 450 visitors from the Indian diaspora and local community, fostering stronger people-to-people connections. Captain Rohit Mishra, Commanding Officer of Tarkash, met with key officials in Mauritius and organized a yoga session on the International Day of Yoga.
This visit highlights India’s commitment to enhancing maritime cooperation and strengthening bilateral relations with Mauritius. The ship’s previous stop was at Port Victoria, Seychelles, where similar engagements were conducted to bolster the friendship and maritime partnership between India and Seychelles.
