Deputy Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Tarun Sobti met with Bahrain Prime Minister Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa at the Riffa Palace to enhance naval cooperation between India and Bahrain. Discussions focused on strengthening ties through Information Sharing, Joint Training, Capacity Building, and Future Warfare. Earlier in January, the Indian Embassy in Bahrain hosted a reception commemorating India’s 77th Republic Day, attended by over 400 dignitaries, including MPs, senior government officials, and members of the Diplomatic Corps. The event also featured a painting exhibition titled ‘Indo‑Bahrain Friendship’ and performances by the Uttarakhand Society of Bahrain.
In November last year, EAM Jaishankar and Abdullatif bin Rashid Alzayani co-chaired the 5th India-Bahrain High Joint Commission meeting in New Delhi. The meeting reviewed progress in various sectors such as trade, security, defence, health, culture, and explored opportunities in space, fintech, and cyber domains. Jaishankar expressed confidence in deepening India-GCC ties as Bahrain assumed the GCC presidency.
