Flag Officer Commanding Eastern Fleet, Rear Admiral Alok Nanda, along with commanding officers of Indian Navy’s Eastern Fleet ships, visited the Kranji War Memorial in Singapore to honor soldiers who sacrificed their lives in service. They also engaged in discussions with Colonel Ang Chun Hou Bertram, Fleet Commander of the Republic of Singapore Navy, focusing on enhancing maritime defense collaboration between the two countries.
During their operational deployment to South East Asia, Indian Navy’s Eastern Fleet Ships – INS Udaygiri, INS Shakti, and INS Kavaratti – arrived at the Changi Naval Base in Singapore. This visit underscores India’s commitment to strengthening maritime partnerships in the region, aligning with its Act East Policy and Vision MAHASAGAR. High Commissioner of India to Singapore, Shilpak Ambule, also interacted with Rear Admiral Alok Nanda aboard INS Udaygiri, discussing the capabilities of the Indian Navy ships and the ongoing activities of the Eastern Fleet.
The visit of the Indian naval ships to Singapore facilitates professional exchanges with the Singapore Navy, including cross-deck visits and discussions on mutual maritime concerns. These interactions aim to enhance operational experiences and Best Practices sharing between the two navies, fostering mutual understanding and interoperability.
