India’s passenger vehicle market concluded June 2026 positively, with major automakers experiencing robust sales due to strong demand and consistent export growth. Maruti Suzuki India surpassed the 2 lakh-unit sales milestone, while Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) recorded a 7% year-on-year increase in monthly sales. Hyundai Motor India achieved over 51,000 units in total sales despite a temporary production disruption caused by a supplier’s facility fire.
Maruti Suzuki India’s total sales in June 2026 reached 200,390 units, including 150,150 units in the domestic market, 7,472 units supplied to other OEMs, and 42,768 units exported, reinforcing its leading position in the country’s passenger vehicle sector. Toyota Kirloskar Motor reported a total of 31,016 units sold in June, marking a 7% increase from the previous year, with 28,441 units sold domestically and 2,575 units exported.
Sabari Manohar, Executive Vice President of Sales-Service-Used Car Business at Toyota Kirloskar Motor, expressed satisfaction with the positive sales momentum driven by customer demand and the company’s customer-centric approach. He highlighted the successful market reception of the New Innova Crysta, which features updated styling and design elements, emphasizing its appeal and value proposition.
Hyundai Motor India reported a total of 51,335 units sold in June 2026, comprising 39,635 units in the domestic market and 11,700 units exported. Tarun Garg, Managing Director and CEO, mentioned that despite a production loss of 13,900 units due to a supplier’s facility fire, Hyundai managed to maintain its sales performance by sourcing parts from alternate locations. Normal production across Hyundai’s facilities resumed from June 22, 2026, with plans to recover the lost production volume in the second quarter of FY27.
