President Droupadi Murmu has commenced her State visits to Moldova, North Macedonia, and Romania, with Moldova being the first stop. This visit marks the first-ever by an Indian President to Moldova and is a significant milestone in bilateral relations.
President Murmu’s visit to Moldova was at the invitation of President Maia Sandu, where she is scheduled to engage in discussions with President Sandu and meet with various officials, including Moldova Parliament’s President Igor Grosu. The visit aims to strengthen ties and explore opportunities for cooperation in sectors such as agriculture, healthcare, IT, and education.
The Ministry of External Affairs highlighted the warm relations between India and Moldova, emphasizing the potential for collaboration in various fields. The visit is expected to enhance bilateral ties and transition them towards a more comprehensive partnership, encompassing trade, investment, technology, energy, healthcare, education, and cultural exchanges.
