The Indian skeet squad is ready for action at the International Shooting Sports Federation (ISSF) Shotgun World Cup in Tangier, Morocco. The competition, which marks the start of the 2026 season, will see top shooters from around the world at the Club Tangérois de Tir.
Day one will kick off with 75 targets for both men and women, followed by 50 targets and the finals on Sunday. The competition schedule starts at 13:30 IST and concludes with the men’s finals at 22:00 IST on Sunday.
A strong field of Olympic and World Champions is set to compete, with India fielding a maximum quota of athletes in both men’s and women’s categories. The women’s event features renowned shooters like Olympic champion Francisca Crovetto Chadid and world champion Samantha Simonton.
The Indian contingent includes Olympian Maheshwari Chauhan, Darshana Rathore, Yashasvi Rathore, Areeba Khan, and Mansi Raghuwanshi, aiming for ranking points in the competition.
In the men’s category, an 82-strong field will compete, with top names such as World Championship bronze medallist Emil Kjeldgaard Petersen and World Cup finals winner Christian Elliot. India’s hopes rest on experienced shooters like Man Singh, Parampal Singh Guron, and debutant Jyotiraditya Singh Sisodiya.
With a mix of seasoned champions and rising stars, the World Cup in Tangier promises an exciting start to the season as athletes begin their journey towards Olympic qualification pathways.
