Indian Teen Amieyra Khoslla Sets National Record at World Youth Climbing Championships

Amieyra Khoslla, a 15-year-old speed climber from India, made history at the IFSC World Youth Climbing Championships 2026 in Arco, Italy, by achieving a time of 7.60 seconds, securing the sixth position globally and setting a new Indian National Youth Record in speed climbing.

During the qualification round, she surpassed her personal best with a time of 7.74 seconds before further improving it in the finals to 7.60 seconds, setting a new personal best twice in the same championship.

Amieyra expressed her pride in representing India at the World Youth Climbing Championships, stating that setting a new Indian National Youth Record and finishing sixth globally was a dream come true for her. She emphasized that enhancing her personal best twice at the World Championships has boosted her confidence in competing at the highest level.

Her exceptional performance against the world’s top young speed climbers not only signifies a remarkable achievement for her but also represents a significant milestone for Indian sport climbing on the international platform.

The Indian team at the World Youth Climbing Championships included Amieyra Khoslla, Shlok Dadukar, Neil Warke, and Rudra Karandikar. Dadukar secured the 27th position with a time of 6.76 seconds, Warke finished 35th with a timing of 7.33 seconds, and Karandikar clocked 8.47 seconds to secure the 44th position.

Coach Albert Ok, a renowned Olympic speed climbing coach, commended Amieyra’s rapid progress and exceptional performance at the global stage, highlighting her talent, discipline, and determination as exemplary qualities that can inspire future generations of Indian speed climbers.

Amieyra’s personal coach, Abhishek Mehta, expressed his pride in her outstanding performance at the World Youth Championships, emphasizing that her achievement of 7.60 seconds not only reflects a remarkable result but also symbolizes years of dedicated hard work, trust, and commitment.

Amieyra’s previous accolades include winning a silver medal in the 100 meters at the SGFI National School Games 2024, finishing 5th in the 60 meters at the Junior National Athletics Championships 2025 with a time of 7.76 seconds, achieving a personal best of 12.57 seconds in the 100 meters at the National School Games 2025, and being the Delhi State Champion in the 60 meters for three consecutive years (2024, 2025, and 2026).
