For 13-year-olds, competing globally can be daunting, but not for India’s Niral Wadekar. She seized the opportunity at the World Yogasana Championship 2026, claiming victory in two categories. Niral secured gold in Sub-Junior Individual Hand Stand and Sub-Junior Individual Traditional Group events.
At the championship in Amdavad, Gujarat, Niral aimed to excel, avoid errors, and emerge victorious. Her determination paid off with not one but two gold medals. Expressing her joy, Niral stated, “I am thrilled to have made myself, my family, and my country proud.”
Reflecting on the pressure of competition, Niral acknowledged the nerves that come with performing on a global stage. Despite this, she finds the thrill of competing exhilarating. Apart from Yogasana, Niral aspires to become a fighter pilot while continuing her Yogasana journey to bring further glory to India.
Niral sees the championship as a significant learning opportunity to enhance her skills and relish the experience of representing India. Amidst global participation in Amdavad, Niral embraces the chance to prove that age is no obstacle to pursuing ambitious dreams.
