The Indian U-17 women’s team showcased a dominant performance, defeating Bhutan 8-0 in the SAFF U-19 Women’s Championship 2026. Pearl Fernandes shone with a first-half hat-trick, supported by goals from Pritika Barman, Alisha Lyngdoh, Abhista Basnett, and Divyani Linda. India swiftly took control, with Alisha Lyngdoh and Abhista Basnett scoring early goals.

Pearl Fernandes continued the onslaught, adding two more goals before halftime, securing a 7-0 lead for India. Despite making changes in the second half, India’s relentless attacks led to Pritika Barman scoring her second goal in the final minute. With this victory, India secured a spot in the final against Bangladesh on February 7.

India’s goalkeeper Munni had a quiet game as the defense effectively contained Bhutan’s threats. India finished second in the standings with six points, setting up a final clash with table-toppers Bangladesh. The Indian U-17 team’s participation in the tournament is part of their preparation for the AFC U-17 Women’s Asian Cup China 2026.
