Pritika Barman scored twice as the Indian U17 women’s team secured a 2-0 victory over Myanmar in an international friendly at the Thuwunna Stadium in Yangon. This match is part of India’s preparations for the AFC U17 Women’s Asian Cup to be held in Suzhou, China from May 1 to May 17, 2026.
India displayed a mature performance, scoring a goal in each half and maintaining a clean sheet against Myanmar. Goalkeeper Munni and the defensive line led by Abhista Basnett and Elizabed Lakra played crucial roles in India’s victory.
The first half saw Myanmar trying to disrupt India’s rhythm, but India gradually took control of the game. In the 38th minute, Pritika Barman scored the opening goal after a well-executed move, giving India a 1-0 lead at halftime.
In the second half, India dominated proceedings, increasing the tempo and possession. They extended their lead to 2-0 with another goal from Pritika Barman, securing a comfortable win over Myanmar. India’s disciplined defending and efficient ball movement ensured Myanmar could not mount a comeback.
