As the Indian Wheel of Fortune show nears its end, actress Bhumi Pednekar shared a fun memory as a guest. She recounted a prank played on her by Bollywood star Akshay Kumar during the shooting of their movie Toilet: Ek Prem Katha. Pednekar, who is scared of speed, revealed how Kumar scared her by increasing the bike’s speed while riding.
Pednekar mentioned that Kumar, knowing her fear of bikes, pretended there was no stunt in the movie. However, he then accelerated the bike suddenly, leaving her terrified. The incident left Pednekar praying for safety while Kumar laughed recalling the memory. Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, a social comedy-drama released on August 11, 2017, starred Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar in lead roles.
The film, directed by Shree Narayan Singh and produced by Kumar and Neeraj Pandey, was inspired by real-life events and supported the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’s storyline revolves around Keshav (played by Kumar) and Jaya (played by Pednekar), highlighting the lack of sanitation facilities in rural India. Keshav’s journey to build a toilet to save his marriage addresses societal norms and women’s rights.
