Indian women wrestlers excelled at the Under-15 Asian Wrestling Championships in Pattaya, securing a total of eight medals. Samruddhi Satish Patil, Vinakshi, and Disha Shokeen stood out by winning gold in their respective weight categories. The Indian contingent also claimed two silver and three bronze medals, maintaining a perfect podium record.
On the other hand, the Indian Under-15 Greco-Roman team ranked third overall in the team standings with 150 points. Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan took the top two spots with 171 and 167 points, respectively. In the women’s events, Disha Shokeen dominated the 66kg final with an 11-0 victory, while Patil and Vinakshi triumphed in the 33kg and 46kg categories, respectively.
Divya Rani and Dnyaneshwari Vrusheshwar Shinde settled for silver medals after facing Japanese opponents in their title clashes. Additionally, Indian wrestlers secured all three bronze medals in their respective weight classes, showcasing a strong overall performance at the championships.
