The Indian Women’s Hockey team has set off from Kempegowda International Airport for an exposure tour of the United Kingdom from July 5 to 14, 2026. Led by new chief coach Tim White, the team will play seven matches in Scotland and England as part of their preparations for upcoming international tournaments, including the Junior Asia Cup.
The squad, captained by Khaidem Shileima Chanu, includes Nidhi and Engil Harsha Rani Minz as goalkeepers. The defensive unit consists of Pooja Sahoo, Supriya, Madhu, F. Lalbi Aksiami, Lalneihpuii, and Parwati Topno.
In the midfield, players like captain Chanu, Tanuja Toppo, Supriya Kujur, Pooja Malik, Binima Dhan, Geeta Yadav, Roshni Aind, and Tanushree Dinesh Kadu will feature. The forward line will see players such as Sukhveer Kaur, Shashi Khasa, Lalrinpuii, Nisha Minj, Purnima Yadav, Kajal, Sanika Chandrakant Mane, and Krishna Sharma in action.
Coach White aims to refine combinations and strategies during this tour to enhance the team’s readiness for the upcoming tournaments. He emphasized the importance of this tour for the development of the junior squad, highlighting the learning opportunities it presents for both individuals and the team as a whole.
The tour will kick off with matches against the Scotland Senior Women’s Team at the University of Edinburgh before facing junior teams from the United States, England, and Belgium at the Lilleshall National Sports Centre.
