The Indian senior women’s team has landed in Nairobi for the FIFA Series 2026 Kenya, set during the April FIFA International Women’s Match Window. The Blue Tigresses are scheduled to face hosts Kenya in the semifinal on April 11 at 20:30 IST, with Australia and Malawi playing the other semifinal earlier on the same day at 16:30 IST.
The semifinal winners and losers will advance to the final and the third-place play-off, respectively, on April 15, all happening at the Nyayo National Stadium in Nairobi. In case of a draw, matches will proceed directly to a penalty shootout without extra time. India ranks 67th in the FIFA world rankings among the four participants, with Australia at 15th, Kenya at 133rd, and Malawi at 153rd.
Launched in 2024, the FIFA Series is an international friendly tournament involving national teams from different confederations to promote meaningful friendly matches. The tournament aims to foster international football interaction and contribute to global football development.
Crispin Chettri has been re-appointed as the head coach of the Indian women’s national team for the friendly tournament, leading a 22-member squad. The squad includes goalkeepers Adrija Sarkhel, Linthoingambi Devi Maibam, and Shreya Hooda, defenders, midfielders, and forwards.
