India’s Ambassador to Argentina, Ajaneesh Kumar, met with Argentina’s Minister of Defence, Lieutenant General Carlos Alberto Presti, to enhance defence ties and explore new opportunities for strengthening bilateral relations. Both sides agreed to soon sign a Cooperation Agreement on defence matters between the two nations. The Indian Embassy in Argentina shared that the meeting involved discussions on existing bilateral defence relations and plans to deepen ties further.
Ajaneesh Kumar informed Minister Presti about the Indian Army Sailing Vessel Triveni’s arrival in Buenos Aires, crewed by an all-women tri-service team circumnavigating the globe. The officials also agreed to expedite the signing of the Cooperation Agreement in Defence Matters between India and Argentina. The meeting concluded with an invitation for Minister Presti to visit India in the future.
In a significant milestone for the Indian Armed Forces, 10 women officers from the Army, Navy, and Air Force are undertaking a global sailing expedition aboard the Indian Army Sailing Vessel Triveni. The vessel, symbolizing jointness and synergy among the three services, marks the first joint circumnavigation mission by the Indian Armed Forces, showcasing India’s maritime prowess and the empowerment of women in uniform.
