India’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Abhay Kumar, handed over his Letter of Credence to Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov in Baku, marking a significant move to strengthen ties between the two nations.
During the meeting, Bayramov congratulated Kumar on his new role and expressed well wishes for his diplomatic mission. Discussions centered on the current state of bilateral relations and opportunities for future collaboration.
Both sides emphasized the importance of regular political consultations to address differences and enhance cooperation. They also highlighted the positive developments in air connectivity, tourism, education, and energy cooperation between India and Azerbaijan.
Ambassador Kumar expressed gratitude for Azerbaijan’s support in evacuating Indian citizens from Iran during crises and reiterated his commitment to broadening relations in various sectors. The meeting reaffirmed the historical foundations of the India-Azerbaijan partnership and mutual interest in strengthening ties further.
