India’s Ambassador to Japan, Nagma Mallick, met with Nagasaki City Mayor Shirosuke Suzuki to enhance the exchange and cooperative ties between the two nations. The discussions focused on bolstering relations between India and Nagasaki City. Ambassador Mallick welcomed Mayor Suzuki to the Embassy of India in Japan for the talks.
The Ambassador also held discussions with Japan’s Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs Hiyoshi Takehiro. They assessed recent high-level exchanges and talks, emphasizing the need to further fortify bilateral relations. Japanese Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi’s recent visit to India highlighted cooperation in economic growth, investment, innovation, and economic security.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Narendra Modi underscored the importance of the India-Japan Special Strategic and Global Partnership in fostering peace and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region. Minister Motegi highlighted ongoing initiatives in security, economy, innovation, and people-to-people exchanges based on the Japan-India Joint Vision for the Next 10 Years. Both nations aim to collaborate for a strong and prosperous Indo-Pacific under the Free and Open Indo-Pacific framework.
