India’s Ambassador to Switzerland, Mridul Kumar, welcomed External Affairs Minister (EAM) S Jaishankar at Zurich Airport during his return to New Delhi from a successful six-nation tour. Ambassador Kumar briefed EAM Jaishankar on the latest developments in India-Switzerland bilateral relations, emphasizing growing high-level exchanges.
During his tour, EAM Jaishankar met with the European Union (EU) Commissioner for Startups, Research, and Innovation, Ekaterina Zaharieva, in Brussels. Discussions focused on opportunities for research in clean and green energy technologies, innovation hubs, startups, and collaboration with ‘Horizon Europe’. India’s Ambassador to Belgium and the EU, Pranay Verma, was also present at the meeting.
In Brussels, EAM Jaishankar and his Belgian counterpart, Maxime Prevot, reviewed bilateral cooperation across various sectors including political, economic, investment, clean energy, defense, mobility, and pharmaceutical domains. The leaders explored opportunities in ports, maritime, semiconductors, and broader cooperation for supply chain de-risking. They also exchanged views on global developments, particularly in West Asia.
