An upcoming Future Warfare Course in India will delve into the country’s security challenges and explore modern and futuristic war strategies. Scheduled from February 2 to 25 at the Manekshaw Centre in New Delhi, the course will cover specialized subjects and the impact of technology on military operations. This initiative, organized by the Headquarters, Integrated Defence Staff and the Centre for Joint Warfare Studies (CENJOWS), aims to enhance participants’ understanding of evolving warfighting concepts and doctrines.
The course, building on the success of its inaugural edition in September 2024, aligns with the vision of General Anil Chauhan, Chief of the Defence Staff, to equip officers for the complexities of contemporary warfare. Participants from the three services, as well as representatives from the defence industry, will engage in discussions on various aspects of modern and futuristic warfighting. The program includes visits to key defense institutions and practical demonstrations of emerging technologies critical to defense capabilities.
Featuring a mix of officers ranging from majors to major generals and industry experts, the Future Warfare course aims to bridge operational priorities with the capabilities of the indigenous defense industry. Experts from diverse backgrounds, including veterans, serving officers, and academic professionals, will facilitate in-depth discussions on security challenges. The curriculum will cover topics such as critical elements, supply chain vulnerabilities, and global geopolitics to prepare defense forces for future operations.
