India’s skipper, Harmanpreet Singh, is gearing up to lead the team at the FIH World Cup for the second time. With India’s last World Cup victory dating back 50 years, Harmanpreet is determined to break the medal drought and create history.

In the upcoming tournament, India, a powerhouse in hockey, will compete in Pool D against England, Pakistan, and Wales. The team, under Harmanpreet’s leadership, is well-prepared and aims to make a strong start against Wales on August 15.

Reflecting on the team’s progress, Harmanpreet highlighted the growth shown during the Pro League matches. The squad, consisting of 20 members, is focused on maintaining consistency, improving performance match by match, and avoiding costly mistakes in the World Cup.

Coach Craig Fulton’s strategic approach involved assessing 33 players during the recent Pro League, emphasizing the importance of teamwork and staying focused throughout the tournament. Harmanpreet stressed the need for clinical execution in the striking circle, both in attack and defense, to capitalize on opportunities effectively.

In anticipation of the highly anticipated match against Pakistan, Harmanpreet emphasized the team’s excitement and the need to control emotions and play smartly. The skipper expressed eagerness to face all teams in the pool stage, emphasizing the importance of maintaining pressure on opponents and converting chances into goals.
