India’s U-19 women boxers excelled at the Asian U-19 & U-23 Boxing Championships in Jakarta, Indonesia. Six boxers advanced to the semifinals, guaranteeing medals after strong performances in the quarterfinals. Chandrika Bhoresh Pujari (51kg) led the charge with a dominant victory over Kazakhstan’s Zhadyra Kaltay.
Prachi (57kg) continued the winning streak with a clinical victory over Uzbekistan’s Robiya Ravshanova. Chahat (60kg) also secured a comprehensive win against Kazakhstan’s Zhasmin Abramyan. Gunjan triumphed over Mongolia’s Altanzul Altangadas in a closely contested match. Anshika (75kg) added to India’s medal tally with a hard-fought victory over Kazakhstan’s Altyngul Aimukhan.
India’s U-19 women’s team has now secured eight medals, showcasing the depth and potential of the country’s youth boxing program. The championships in Jakarta provide a crucial platform for India’s emerging talent to gain international exposure and prepare for future competitions.
India’s U-23 women boxers also impressed at the championships, with nine boxers advancing to the semifinals.
