India’s white-collar job market had a robust performance in February, marking a 12% year-on-year increase to 3,233 from the previous year’s 2,890. The month-on-month rise from January to February was 23%, surpassing the typical 13–16% increase seen during this period, as per the Naukri JobSpeak Index data.
Fresh hiring for roles requiring 0–3 years of experience grew by 17% year-on-year. The demand for positions in the 20+ LPA salary bracket surged by 23%, with the insurance sector leading at 28% growth, followed by BPO/ITES at 22%, real estate at 19%, hospitality/travel at 15%, and retail at 14%.
The IT sector, which had been stable in previous quarters, saw a 6% growth, while AI/ML roles witnessed a significant 49% year-on-year increase. Within IT, hiring for salary bands below 20 LPA remained steady, with roles in the 20+ LPA band growing by 19% year-on-year and 50+ LPA roles spiking by 45%.
