IndiGo, the low-cost airline, has announced the cancellation of flights from Delhi to Tbilisi and from Mumbai to Almaty scheduled for January 25, along with their return journeys. The airline also mentioned that flights to and from Tbilisi, Almaty, Baku, and Tashkent on January 26, 2026, might have brief halts at Doha for refueling due to safety precautions. In response to recent developments concerning Iran, IndiGo emphasized these changes were made to prioritize safety.

The airline advised passengers affected by the cancellations to visit their website for alternative options, such as rescheduling on future flights or obtaining a full refund. IndiGo further informed that flights on January 26, 2026, could experience short layovers at Doha for refueling. They urged travelers to stay updated on their flight status as the situation is closely monitored for any further updates.

Amid geopolitical tensions, various airlines have adjusted their flight routes, with some rerouting, delaying, or canceling flights passing through Iranian airspace. Notably, major international carriers like Air France, KLM, and Lufthansa have either suspended or reduced operations to Israel and key Gulf destinations due to security concerns. Additionally, the US has imposed new sanctions targeting entities and vessels involved in transporting Iranian petroleum and petroleum products, including liquefied petroleum gas.
