On the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Indore Municipal Corporation has renamed the city’s crucial AB Road to Atal Bihari Marg in honor of his legacy. The decision, made during a Municipal Corporation Council meeting, is part of the celebrations marking Vajpayee’s birth centenary, observed as Good Governance Day nationwide.
AB Road, previously known for its Bus Rapid Transit System corridor and commonly referred to as BRTS, plays a vital role in connecting key areas of Indore, running from Rau to Mangaliya through densely populated neighborhoods. Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargava announced the renaming, emphasizing Vajpayee’s significant contributions to the nation, his visionary ideas, and his dedicated service.
The renaming of AB Road to Atal Bihari Marg is a symbolic gesture of deep respect and admiration for the former Prime Minister, according to Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargava. The announcement was made during a Good Governance Conference at the Atal Parishad Auditorium, attended by notable figures like national poet Satyanarayan Sattan.
