Intermittent rainfall and gusty winds on Saturday provided much-needed relief from the intense heat in Jaipur. The change in weather led to a noticeable drop in temperatures across the city, offering respite to residents. Around 9:30 a.m., dense cloud cover and light to moderate rain in areas like Amer and Malviya Nagar brought cooler conditions.
The Meteorological Centre reported a 1 to 2 degrees Celsius decrease in daytime temperatures due to the rainfall activity. Previously, Jaipur had been experiencing temperatures close to 40 degrees Celsius. The India Meteorological Department issued Orange and Yellow alerts for various districts in Rajasthan, warning of thunderstorms, lightning, strong winds, and rainfall.
Jaipur, Sikar, Tonk, Dausa, and Jhunjhunu are under an Orange alert, indicating the possibility of moderate to intense thunderstorms. These areas may face gusty winds, lightning strikes, hailstorms, and rainfall. Precautions have been advised as such conditions could lead to damage to trees, structures, and crops. Additionally, districts like Dholpur, Karauli, and Alwar have been issued a Yellow alert for thunderstorms and moderate rainfall.
Authorities have urged citizens to take necessary precautions during adverse weather, including staying indoors and securing loose objects. While the rainfall offers relief, concerns for agriculture and rural infrastructure persist. Farmers are advised to protect crops from potential damage. The IMD continues to monitor the weather closely and residents are advised to stay alert and follow official guidelines.
