The Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) is witnessing increased internal turmoil as honorary President G.K. Mani voiced strong support for founder Dr. S. Ramadoss while criticizing his son, Anbumani Ramadoss. Mani highlighted the upcoming crucial working committee meeting where Dr. Ramadoss is expected to announce the party’s alliance for the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.
Mani directly accused Anbumani Ramadoss of orchestrating a plot to seize control of the party from its founder, alleging that Anbumani’s actions have weakened the PMK. He emphasized that Dr. Ramadoss had already relieved Anbumani of all responsibilities, questioning Anbumani’s authority within the party.
According to Mani, the PMK, once a prominent political entity in Tamil Nadu, suffered setbacks due to internal conflicts instigated by certain actions. He expressed confidence in Dr. Ramadoss’s leadership to rebuild and strengthen the party, asserting that many former leaders and cadres are eager to rejoin after being misled by false narratives.
Mani revealed that the party’s rejuvenation has commenced under Dr. Ramadoss’s guidance, with the appointment of new office-bearers and efforts to enhance discipline and credibility. He predicted that the PMK would regain its political influence in Tamil Nadu, signaling a forthcoming announcement to solidify this resurgence.
The ongoing developments within the PMK coincide with speculation surrounding the party’s future alliances ahead of the 2026 Assembly elections, with a keen focus on the internal restructuring’s implications.
