The investigation into the alleged murder of Pune businessman’s son, Ketan Agarwal, at Lohagad Fort is intensifying. Superintendent of Police, Pune Rural, Sandeep Gill, emphasized the need to establish a solid chain of evidence independently of statements given to law enforcement. Gill highlighted that confessions made to the police are not admissible in court, necessitating the independent verification of evidence.
The case, initially thought to be an accident, has now evolved into a premeditated murder inquiry. Suspicions point towards Ketan Agarwal’s fiancée, Siya Goyal, and her alleged accomplice, Chetan Babulal Chaudhary, who are believed to have conspired to orchestrate his death during a trip to the fort. Recent reports suggest that CCTV footage obtained by NDTV shows Goyal meeting Chaudhary at a cafe in Pune to discuss the alleged plan.
Ketan Agarwal, the son of a well-known Pune-based businessman, was engaged to Siya Goyal, with plans for a grand wedding in November. However, following the incident at Lohagad Fort, where Agarwal died, the case has taken a serious turn. Security guard Dheeraj Jadhav, who responded to the scene upon hearing screams, recounted Goyal informing him of the fall and calling for help. Both Goyal and Chaudhary are currently under police custody as the investigation progresses.
Authorities are utilizing forensic analysis, CCTV footage, and circumstantial evidence to piece together the events leading to Agarwal’s death and to uncover the motive behind the alleged crime.
