The investigation into the alleged Pakistan espionage case in Jaipur has escalated, with a Jaipur court granting the CID Intelligence wing an additional three days of police remand for accused Mushtaq. Authorities argued that further interrogation is necessary to scrutinize his bank accounts, financial transactions, communication records, and suspected connections to other individuals. Mushtaq, arrested on charges of spying for Pakistan, will appear in court again on June 25 as security agencies delve deeper into the alleged espionage network.
The prosecution revealed during the hearing that crucial aspects of the investigation, such as examining the accused’s financial dealings, digital communications, and potential local support network, are still ongoing. Investigators are analyzing Mushtaq’s Call Detail Records (CDRs), bank accounts, and monetary transactions to identify any suspicious financial links. The interrogation has also uncovered several individuals whose involvement is now under scrutiny by security agencies, although their identities remain undisclosed due to the sensitive nature of the probe.
Officials have taken Mushtaq to locations where he allegedly captured photographs and videos of sensitive installations. Security agencies conducted inspections to determine if he received assistance from local contacts during these activities. It is believed that Mushtaq had been in contact with Pakistan-based handlers for about two years, operating a tea stall in the border region under their direction and planning to install cameras for live feeds.
