Iran’s Foreign Ministry clarified that talks between Tehran and Washington will be held in Oman, refuting reports suggesting a different location. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei emphasized Iran’s appreciation for diplomatic efforts by regional countries to ease tensions and promote dialogue. Baqaei highlighted that Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi engaged in discussions with counterparts from regional nations to reduce tensions and advance diplomatic processes.
Baqaei affirmed that the talks were always intended to take place in Oman, dismissing any alternative venue proposals. Additionally, Ali Larijani, secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, met with Omani Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood Albusaidi in Muscat to discuss regional and international matters. Both officials emphasized the significance of dialogue and cooperation in enhancing regional security and stability.
Larijani issued a cautionary message on social media ahead of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s meeting with US President Donald Trump, warning against allowing Netanyahu to influence nuclear negotiation frameworks through posturing. Israel has expressed distrust towards Iran on nuclear issues and threatened unilateral action if US-Iran talks do not meet its expectations. Netanyahu highlighted Iran as a primary agenda item for his meeting with Trump in Washington.
