Esmaeil Baqaei, the Foreign Ministry spokesperson, refuted reports claiming Iran’s intention to halt Uranium enrichment, emphasizing their focus on ending conflicts. Baqaei clarified that Iran’s strategy does not involve nuclear aspects but centers on peace efforts. He dismissed speculations regarding Iran’s commitment to mine clearance and US involvement in the process, labeling them as misinformation from certain media sources.
Addressing the media, Baqaei highlighted Iran’s current priority of resolving conflicts in the region, particularly in Lebanon. He emphasized that their 14-point plan aims at peace-building and does not include the nuclear-related issues discussed in past negotiations. The proposal includes provisions for non-aggression guarantees, withdrawal of US troops from Iran’s vicinity, lifting the naval blockade, asset release, compensation, sanctions removal, and cessation of hostilities in various regions.
Regarding guarantees from the other party, Baqaei asserted that Iran relies on its own strength and resources for assurance. He mentioned that Iran has submitted its proposal to the US, which encompasses measures for peace and conflict resolution. The spokesperson indicated that Iran awaits the US response before finalizing their own stance on the matter.
