Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi called on the global community to denounce the “violations of international law” by the United States and Israel during the BRICS Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in New Delhi. Araghchi highlighted that Iran has faced “brutal and unlawful aggression” from these countries, emphasizing the need to end impunity for those breaching the UN Charter. He stressed that Iran, like other independent nations, is a victim of illegal expansionism and warmongering, urging for a more just and humane global order.
Araghchi pointed out that the people of Iran have resiliently defended themselves against external pressures, asserting Iran’s unwavering strength and unity. He expressed Iran’s willingness to defend its freedom and soil through both diplomacy and necessary actions. Araghchi also called on BRICS member states and the international community to explicitly condemn the illegal actions of the United States and Israel, prevent the politicization of global institutions, and stop warmongering activities.
The Foreign Minister cautioned against reckless geopolitical pursuits that lead to regional instability, emphasizing the negative impacts on all parties involved, including the aggressors. He underlined Iran’s commitment to not succumb to pressure or threats but respond with respect, advocating for a balanced and fair global order. Araghchi reiterated the importance of collective action to halt violations of international law and ensure accountability for those disregarding the UN Charter.
