Several prominent Iranian politicians, including President Masoud Pezeshkian, participated in an International Quds Day rally in Tehran following recent US-Israel airstrikes that targeted Iranian leaders. Videos from the event showed Pezeshkian interacting with the public, underscoring a rare public appearance by top officials.
Notable figures such as Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Advisor to Iran’s Supreme Leader Mohammad Mokhber, and others joined the rally, as reported by Iran’s official news agency IRNA. Despite ongoing airstrikes, Iranians filled the streets, with casualties from the attacks yet to be disclosed.
Iran has outlined three key conditions for resolving the conflict, emphasizing the need for recognition of its rights and compensation for war-related damages. President Pezeshkian reiterated Iran’s commitment to peace but stressed that a resolution hinges on meeting Iran’s demands for security and reparations.
Tehran asserts that the conflict was instigated by the US and Israel and insists on concrete assurances for its security before considering a ceasefire.
