Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei conveyed a message to Hezbollah chief Naim Qassem, affirming ongoing backing for resistance against the United States and Israel. Khamenei appreciated Qassem’s support following the “martyrdom” of his father, former Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, in a US-Israeli airstrike. The late Hezbollah leaders were commended for their courage, sacrifices, and battles against Iran’s adversaries.
Khamenei expressed confidence in Qassem’s capabilities to counter Israel’s plans and restore dignity to the Lebanese people. Mojtaba Khamenei was recently chosen as Iran’s new supreme leader by the Assembly of Experts. Additionally, Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) disclosed targeting an Israeli vessel in the Persian Gulf with ballistic missiles in a series of strikes against US and Israeli interests.
The IRGC cautioned companies linked to “terrorist espionage,” including major US technology firms, of potential targeting. Drone attacks were launched on vital communication and industrial sites associated with the Israeli military. Iran executed two individuals tied to the Mujahedin-e Khalq Organization for engaging in “terror operations” in Tehran. Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi refuted claims of Iran firing a missile towards Türkiye as unfounded.
