Al-Zaidi stated that Iraq backs ending wars through dialogue and negotiations to enhance regional stability, fostering development and prosperity for the region’s people, according to his media office. Amid military actions between the US and Iran, the US carried out strikes on Iranian targets, citing Iranian aggression in the Strait of Hormuz. In response, Iran targeted US military positions. However, both countries have agreed to halt attacks temporarily and will engage in talks in Doha to address the Strait of Hormuz dispute, as reported by US media outlet Axios.
Originally planned in Switzerland to discuss Iran’s nuclear program, the talks were moved to Doha due to escalating tensions in the Strait of Hormuz, focusing on maritime security in the vital waterway.
