The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has revealed a unique religious tour to Nepal as part of the Bharat Gaurav scheme. This tour, named ‘Pashupatinath Nepal Darshan Yatra,’ will commence from Indore on June 12 via a Deluxe AC tourist train. It marks the first time a Bharat Gaurav tourist train is operating for travelers going outside India.
The nine-night and 10-day journey will encompass significant locations in Nepal, such as the renowned Pashupatinath Temple in Kathmandu, Pokhara, Chitwan National Park, and the Manakamana Temple. Passengers will enjoy a ropeway ride at the Manakamana Temple and a Jeep Safari in Chitwan, both organized by the IRCTC. Travelers can board the train from various stations across Madhya Pradesh, including Indore, Ujjain, Shujalpur, Sehore, Rani Kamalapati (Bhopal), Itarsi, Narsinghpur, Jabalpur, Katni, and Satna.
Rahul Holkar, Executive Tourism (Indore), mentioned that the train will comprise 14 coaches offering three accommodation categories: First AC, Second AC, and Third AC. Dining facilities will be provided onboard, with two restaurant coaches designated for this purpose. The Nepal Darshan package incorporates five-night stays in three-star hotels, accompanied by local sightseeing via AC buses.
IRCTC has set different fares for each category. The Third AC Comfort category is priced at Rs 62,710 per person, the Second AC Deluxe category at Rs 76,550 per person, and the First AC Superior category at Rs 90,400 per person. The package covers rail travel, meals onboard and offboard, hotel stays, local transport, sightseeing, tour guides, travel insurance, security, and housekeeping services. IRCTC officials emphasized that the Nepal Darshan Yatra is a guided tourist expedition and not a typical international tour package. Bookings for the Bharat Gaurav Nepal Yatra can be made through IRCTC’s official website and authorized offices.
