Israel has released footage of its attack on an Iranian facility in Maheshwar, claiming that the site stored missiles intended for aircraft strikes. The Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) stated that the destruction of the systems in the petrochemical complex aimed to enhance Israel’s air superiority over Iranian skies and eliminate threats to its citizens.
The IDF, with guidance from the Intelligence Directorate, targeted infrastructures in Maheshwar used by Iranian armed forces to produce materials for weapons. These materials were crucial for the development of ballistic missiles, posing a direct threat to Israel. The attack was part of a series of strikes against the complex under Operation ‘Harry’s Roar’.
The Israeli military conducted a significant strike on strategic air defence systems in Iran, marking a serious escalation between the two nations since an April ceasefire. Dozens of Israeli Air Force warplanes participated in the attack, focusing on defence systems that had been recently redeployed across Iran to restore detection and defence capabilities.
The escalation occurred amidst US-Iran talks and followed Israeli airstrikes in Beirut, Lebanon, resulting in casualties. In response, Iran launched missiles, prompting Israeli strikes on sites in western and central Iran.
