On Mohammed Rafi’s 101st birth anniversary, Bollywood actor Jackie Shroff honored the legendary singer. Jackie shared a monochrome picture of Rafi on social media and posted the song “Aise To Na Dekho” from the film Teen Devian. Rafi, known for his versatile voice, sang in various genres from patriotic to romantic songs.
Rafi’s repertoire included over 7,000 songs in multiple languages, showcasing his adaptability. He sang in Hindi films as well as languages like Urdu, Punjabi, and even foreign languages. His diverse range spanned from qawwalis to ghazals and classical to peppy numbers.
Mohammed Rafi’s legacy lives on through timeless classics like “Chaudhvin Ka Chand Ho” and “Likhe Jo Khat Tujhe.” His ability to tailor his voice to suit the actor on-screen made him a unique talent in the industry. Rafi’s last recorded song was for the movie Aas Paas before his untimely demise in 1980 at the age of 55.
Jackie Shroff, while remembering Rafi, is set to appear in the upcoming comedy film “Welcome To The Jungle,” directed by Ahmed Khan and featuring a star-studded ensemble cast.
