Jaipur Lok Sabha MP Manju Sharma has requested Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw to accelerate the Jaipur Ring Rail Project, highlighting its potential to shape the city’s future. Sharma emphasized the need for collaborative efforts between the central and state governments to revamp Jaipur’s urban and transportation infrastructure.
The MP pointed out Jaipur’s burgeoning population, nearing 60 lakh, and the escalating traffic challenges faced by the city due to its status as a tourist hotspot and economic center. The Ring Rail Project aims to enhance connectivity in suburban areas, promote tourism, facilitate logistics, reduce congestion, and support industrial activities.
Planned in alignment with the Jaipur Master Plan 2050, the project will be executed in phases, running parallel to the ring road at varying distances. It is anticipated to elevate property values along the corridor and spur the development of new residential areas. The initial phase will witness the establishment of 13 new railway stations to enhance accessibility in Jaipur’s outskirts.
MP Manju Sharma commended the transformative initiatives undertaken by Indian Railways under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, including the introduction of Vande Bharat trains and modernized facilities. She highlighted the state government’s concurrent efforts in infrastructure development, envisioning Jaipur’s evolution into a world-class capital city.
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw had previously expressed intentions to develop a ring railway encircling Jaipur during his visit to the city in January 2024.
