Jaipur is gearing up to host India’s military might on January 15, 2026, for the Army Day Parade, a first-time event on public roads akin to the Republic Day parade. The parade will highlight the success of Operation Sindoor, showcasing the Indian Army’s strength and firepower following the Pahalgam terror attack.
The South Western Command will organize the parade, featuring soldiers and weapon systems pivotal in Operation Sindoor. Newly formed units like the Bhairav Battalion will participate, alongside advanced systems such as Shaktibaan and Divyastra.
Regiments like Assam Regiment, Artillery, Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry, Madras Regiment, Scouts, and NCC cadets will be part of the parade. Aerial displays will feature helicopters like Light Combat Helicopter Prachand, Apache attack helicopters, Rudra, and Chetak helicopters.
On the ground, the parade will showcase military prowess with T-90 Bhishma, MBT Arjun, BMP-2, Smerch and Grad rocket launchers, K-9 Vajra, Dhanush, and the M-777 ultra-light howitzer. Air defense systems like MRSAM, Akash missile system, and Shilka will also be on display.
A special tableau highlighting Operation Sindoor’s success will be presented, along with demonstrations of counter-UAS systems, robotic mules, and Army dog squads. The parade will include components from the Air Force and Navy, with Army bands performing indigenous tunes.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s initiative to host military events outside Delhi led to Jaipur being selected as the venue. The parade will take place on Sitapura Road, covering a 1.5-km stretch, with seating for 25,000 spectators, marking a historic milestone for Army Day celebrations.
