External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar visited Mongolia and met with President Khurelsukh Ukhnaa, conveying greetings from Indian leaders. The visit last year by President Ukhnaa strengthened the India-Mongolia Strategic Partnership. Jaishankar valued the President’s guidance on enhancing cooperation across various sectors, emphasizing the importance of spiritual friendship.
The Minister also interacted with the Chief Abbot of Gandan Monastery in Mongolia. Recently, an Indian delegation led by Ladakh Lt. Governor Vinai Saxena brought back holy relics of Lord Buddha’s disciples from Mongolia. These relics were displayed at the Gandan Monastery, fostering cultural ties between the two nations.
During his visit, Jaishankar held discussions with Mongolian Foreign Minister Battsetseg Batmunkh, focusing on cooperation in development projects, education, security, and more. Both ministers explored opportunities in mining, clean energy, and agriculture processing, aiming to strengthen the Strategic Partnership between India and Mongolia.
