A complaint by Delhi Mayor Raja Iqbal Singh led to the registration of an FIR by the Jalandhar Police Commissionerate regarding an edited and doctored video of former Delhi Chief Minister Atishi. The video, with allegedly derogatory remarks against Sikh gurus, was circulated on social media platforms, sparking investigations.
Investigations, conducted in a scientific manner, revealed that the video clip containing Atishi’s audio was downloaded from Delhi Minister Kapil Mishra’s social media platform and sent for forensic examination. The forensic report dated January 9 confirmed that Atishi did not utter the word “Guru” in the circulated video clips.
The video was deliberately doctored to include captions with words that were never spoken by Atishi, the Leader of Opposition in the Delhi Assembly. BJP MLAs protested in the Delhi Assembly against Atishi for her alleged use of ‘insensitive words’ towards a Sikh Guru during a recent session. Delhi Minister Parvesh Verma expressed disappointment over Atishi’s remarks, stating that she neither apologized nor attended the session.
Delhi Minister Kapil Mishra also condemned Atishi’s behavior, labeling it as “extremely shameful.”
