Jammu and Kashmir DGP Nalin Prabhat expressed pride in the successful rescue of 320 individuals from stranded cable car cabins in Gulmarg. He commended the collaborative efforts of J&K Police, SDRF, NDRF, Army, and local rescuers for their coordinated and professional operation. The rescue operation, which lasted six hours, involved various teams working together in challenging mountainous terrain and adverse weather conditions.

Special DGP Javaid Mujtaba Gilani, along with other senior police officers, joined the DGP in supervising the rescue mission. The DGP highlighted the demanding nature of rescuing individuals from cable car cabins in such difficult conditions. He praised the resilience and dedication of the personnel involved, including Gulmarg Police Station, SOG, J&K Armed Police, and Mountain Rescue Teams, among others.

Acknowledging the efforts of the rescue teams, the DGP announced that each participant would be honored with the DG Commendation medal for their courage and commitment. He assured additional rewards, such as promotions, for those already holding DG’s commendation certificates.
