The High Court of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh introduced a three-day “Conduct of Mediation Advanced Course” to strengthen alternative dispute resolution methods. This initiative, under Chief Justice Arun Palli’s patronage, aims to enhance mediation skills and create a cadre of trained mediators in the Union Territory. The program, held in collaboration with various legal bodies, focuses on equipping mediators with effective conflict resolution skills.
The course, scheduled from December 29 to 31, 2025, offers 20 hours of advanced mediation training to mediators across the union territory. The inaugural sessions at Jammu and Srinagar campuses emphasized the importance of mediation in the justice system and the need for practice-oriented training. Participants engaged in structured theoretical and practical modules to enhance their understanding of conflict resolution.
The training program included sessions on mediation principles, conduct of mediation, and practical exercises to simulate real-world mediation scenarios. Participants appreciated the hands-on approach and structured role-plays that provided clarity on integrating mediation tools into their work. The simultaneous conduct of the program in Jammu and Srinagar signifies the High Court’s commitment to expanding mediation awareness and strengthening dispute resolution capacity.
