The Lieutenant Governor highlighted the importance of challenging stereotypes and praised the fellows for redefining possibilities and paving the way for future generations.
He paid tribute to historical figures like Rani Didda, Kota Rani, Lal Ded, Habba Khatoon, and Mata Rupa Bhawani for their contributions to J&K’s development. Expressing gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for empowering women in J&K, he emphasized the need for women to lead in various sectors for the region’s progress. The Lieutenant Governor stressed the importance of women’s empowerment in shaping policies, driving entrepreneurship, and enriching culture through art and literature.
He urged for a supportive environment that fosters women’s capabilities and progress while addressing the rising challenge of substance abuse among women. The Lieutenant Governor encouraged fellows to conduct a detailed analysis to identify the root causes of substance abuse, aiming to strengthen rehabilitation frameworks and support those affected. He expressed hope that the efforts of women’s organizations would bring about positive change in the lives of many women in the future.
