Jammu and Kashmir Lt Governor Manoj Sinha has advised pilgrims to ensure they have valid registration for SANJY-2026 before embarking on the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026. He emphasized the importance of following allotted registration dates to guarantee a safe and smooth pilgrimage experience. Sinha conducted a comprehensive review meeting to assess the management and ground situation of the ongoing Yatra, focusing on aspects like pilgrim movement, security, accommodation, and registration status.
An increasing number of pilgrims arriving without proper registration was noted during the meeting, leading to delays for those undertaking the Yatra. The Lt Governor stressed that the pilgrimage must adhere to the prescribed limits on pilgrim movement along the Yatra tracks as per the directives of the Supreme Court. It was reiterated that only pilgrims with valid registration for their designated date will be allowed to proceed towards the Holy Cave Shrine.
To ensure the safety and convenience of all pilgrims, Sinha urged unregistered pilgrims to postpone their travel temporarily and complete the mandatory registration process. Pilgrims were reminded not to travel without confirmed registration, as entry onto the Yatra tracks will be restricted without it. The Lt Governor also reviewed security and logistical arrangements for the pilgrimage, emphasizing the need for close coordination among departments, security agencies, and stakeholders for a secure and fulfilling Yatra experience.
