The Jammu & Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) has revealed its recently elected office-bearers following the Supreme Court’s lifting of the interim stay on result declaration. This action paves the way for the formal conclusion of the electoral process. The decision came after the petitioners withdrew their plea, alleging fraud and electoral roll manipulation in a specific case.
Electoral Officer A.K. Joti, IAS (Retd.), officially declared the results of the JKCA Elections. The newly elected officials include Javid Ahmed Kitab as President, Desh Rattan Dubey as Vice-President, Vivek Khajuria as Secretary, Rajan Singh as Treasurer, and Anil Kumar Koul and Rakesh Koul as Apex Council Members.
Under Rule 22 of the JKCA constitution, additional nominations were accepted. Ankush Kumar from the AG Office has been nominated to the Apex Council, along with Ankita Jalla and Vikrant Taggar as representatives from the state in the Indian Cricketers’ Association (ICA). JKCA expressed appreciation to all involved parties for ensuring a fair and transparent electoral process after a nine-year wait.
The JKCA thanked the Supreme Court, the Electoral Officer, and stakeholders for overseeing a fair and transparent election process. Looking ahead, the Association aims to collectively advance cricket in the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir. The outgoing Sub Committee Members congratulated the new office-bearers and wished them success in their future endeavors.
