Launched on June 6, 2022, the portal has become a centralized digital platform for accessing institutional credit in various sectors like agriculture, business, housing, renewable energy, and livelihoods.
Jan Samarth supports 16 credit-linked central government schemes, is accessible in eight languages, and operates round the clock to simplify credit access for applicants.
The platform’s automated business-rule engine matches applicants with the most suitable scheme, fills in necessary details automatically, and verifies eligibility criteria.
By reducing procedural complexities and enhancing accessibility, Jan Samarth Portal is enhancing the ease of obtaining institutional credit for citizens across the country.
Real-time verifications through different government databases ensure quicker loan processing, with key integrations including Local Government Directory (LGD), UDYAM, UIDAI, AgriStack, Startup Portal of DPIIT, LOKoS, and more.
The portal also offers an assisted mode for submitting loan applications through bank business correspondents or assisted partners, accessible via a website and mobile application available on both android and iOS platforms.
Endorsing digital financial inclusion and efficient credit delivery, the initiative reflects the government’s dedication to inclusive economic empowerment and streamlining access to institutional credit.
Jan Samarth Portal has enlisted 269 member lending institutions, including 12 public sector banks, 20 private sector banks, 19 Non-Banking Financial Companies (NBFCs), and others to choose from.
